How Verve Africa collects, uses and protects personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Verve South Africa, trading as Verve Africa, company registration 2021/590247/07, of South Africa is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website. Our Information Officer may be contacted at info@verveafrica.co.za.
What we collect
When you use the enquiry desk we collect the details you enter: company, contact name, country, email address, telephone number, and the commercial and technical detail of your requirement. Where you contact us as a producer we also collect the mining right or permit number, the registered name and company registration number of the holder, mine location and assay documentation.
The enquiry desk builds your brief in your browser. Nothing is transmitted to us until you choose to send it from your own email application or copy it and send it yourself.
Why we process it
To respond to your enquiry, to qualify counterparties, to coordinate a potential transaction between a producer and a buyer, and to keep records of our dealings. The lawful basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in conducting the business you have approached us about.
Who we share it with
Where a transaction proceeds, the detail of a requirement is shared with counterparties we are qualifying it against. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
For as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected and to meet our record-keeping obligations.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Write to info@verveafrica.co.za.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
