Verve Africa sources South African chrome ore, chrome concentrate and manganese ore to your specification, from qualified producers.
Mn, Fe and sizing
set first.
The requirement is written down first — Mn content, Fe content, sizing, moisture, tonnage and delivery basis — and the producer is qualified against it.
Grade varies between Mamatwan-type ore and the higher-grade Wessels-type. Which one you are offered is one of the first things we establish.
| Product | Manganese ore — lumpy or fines |

| Mn:Fe ratio | Stated on the assay, per lot |
| Sizing | Lumpy or fines — screened to your fraction |

The world's largest producer.
South Africa is the largest producer of manganese in the world, and holds one of the world's largest reserves (USGS, 2026).

How the ore
sits in the ground.
Straight answers.
Where is manganese ore mined in South Africa?
In the Kalahari manganese field near Hotazel and the Postmasburg field, both in the Northern Cape.
What manganese content does South African ore have?
It depends on the ore type: Mamatwan-type runs around 38% Mn; Wessels-type is higher grade. Mn, Fe and the Mn:Fe ratio are confirmed by assay.
What is the difference between manganese lumpy and fines?
Lumpy ore is sized for direct furnace charge; fines are the smaller fraction, often sintered before use.
Do you supply manganese ore?
No. Verve Africa is a facilitator: we source manganese ore to your specification from qualified producers and coordinate the process.
Need manganese ore?
Send Mn content, tonnage and delivery point. We confirm the ore type and availability.
